Thank you for your interest in joining the Program Administrators Conference Steering Committee (PASC). The PASC is currently looking to fill the following positions:

  • Member-at-large – a two-year commitment ending at the end of the conference planning cycle in November of 2025
  • Host-city Representative – a one-year commitment ending at the end of the conference planning cycle in November of 2024

The key responsibility of the PASC is the planning and execution of the Program Administrators Conference, as part of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada’s (Royal College) International Conference on Residency Education (ICRE). This includes selection, organization and scheduling of workshops and presenters, and planning the networking and social activities for the annual event. New members must have attended at least one Program Administrators Conference in the past.

Committee Composition

The Steering Committee is made up of a core group of ten program administrators as executive members including a representative of the host city, and four representatives from the Royal College.

Executive Members:

  • Chair
  • Chair-Elect
  • Past-Chair
  • 6 Members-at-Large (geographically and specialty diverse)

Royal College Representatives:

  • Royal College Liaison: Manager, Educational Strategy, Innovations, and Development
  • Royal College Conference Specialist, Events Management and Hospitality Services

Key Responsibilities

  • participate in 8-10 video conferences per year and contribute ideas (speakers/topics)
  • record video conference minutes in a shared cycle
  • submission review and candidate selection for the Program Administrator Award for Excellence and Innovation

Active members will benefit from free registration to the Program Administrators Conference, compliments of the Royal College.

Members should be aware that the Royal College does not cover expenses associated with conference travel or accommodation when the conference is held in-person.

The complete Terms of Reference for the PASC will be sent to the chosen applicant(s). Applicants will be required to provide the following via the submission link:

  1. A letter of interest outlining your relevant roles: detailing your experience (list of duties), number of years as a PA and other related experience
  2. Letter of support from your program director, supporting the commitment the candidate is signing up for, as well as confirming they will be available to attend that year’s conference.

Review and Selection

All applications will be acknowledged upon receipt. Applications will be reviewed and selected by current members of the Program Administrators Steering Committee.

In December 2023 an official letter of acceptance will be sent to the successful applicant and they will be invited to participate in all future PASC video conferences, typically held the third Thursday of each month.
